Wood Chips Production

SIA "EKOENERGO" offers woodchip with the following specification:

Energy woodchip

- Type: chipped

- Size: ~98%, width < 50 mm, height < 50 mm, length <150 mm

- Produced of: 80 - 100% round logs; 0 - 20% logging residues

- Wood type: ~ 40-60% hardwood, ~ 40-60% conifer

- Moisture content: 30 - 50%

- Ash content: <2,0 %

The main production equipment is CBI Magnum Force 6400 which allows to produce about 300 m3 of woodchip per hour. This machine is operated by two shifts of professional workers.

To provide fail-safe production of woodchip, two additional machines participate in the production process: front loader Volvo L90 and truck-crane Volvo FH12.

The front loader is also used to compress woodchip while loading for shipment to client; the truck-crane is used to provide logs short distance carriage.

Fraction of the main product - woodchip - can vary depending on client's demand. Raw material is mainly used in the proportion of ~ 50% hardwood and ~ 50% softwood, other proportions are also possible.

All together up to 150 000 m3 of woodchip per month can be dispatched by the Company from Ventspils Sea Port terminal.

The most part of the necessary for the production process quantity of raw material is purchased from the biggest Latvian timber supplier - sate owned company "Latvijas Valsts Mezi".

Raw material is purchased also from private forest owners.
